NTNU Online Placement Test: A Comprehensive Guide

Are you preparing for the online placement test at NTNU? Here’s everything you need to know about the test and how to ace it.

The online placement test at NTNU is designed to assess your language level and determine the appropriate course for you. The test consists of two parts: a multiple-choice section and a hand-written essay.

The multiple-choice section is conducted via Google Form. You will receive an email with a link to the form. Make sure to complete the form within the specified time frame, which is from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The hand-written essay is an opportunity for you to showcase your Chinese language skills. The essay topic is ‘My Experience Learning Chinese.’ Grab a piece of paper and handwrite your essay. Once you are done, take a clear photo of your essay and send it to zoe@ntnu.edu.tw.

After completing the written test, you will proceed to the oral test. During the oral test, you will be asked to introduce yourself and answer questions about your major. The examiner will then show you three pictures, and you will be required to describe what you see. Don’t worry if you don’t know all the words; focus on describing the images to the best of your ability. The oral test usually takes around 5 minutes.

Remember, preparation is key. Practice your Chinese language skills, review vocabulary, and familiarize yourself with common topics. Stay confident and calm during the test, and make sure to follow all instructions provided. Good luck!
